…Wurster Hall was an intellectually challenging proposition, with a physical presence that only its architects, and their mothers, could love…One supposed that the building’s general attraction, if there were one, had something to do with the virtue of being frank and forthright, or perhaps its thoughtful preparation against physical assaults much like the immune system a healthy organism might possess, yet rendered here permanent, rectangular, and forever gray.
